Just throwing up a quick post to tell everyone about a small little list I've added to the sidebar on the left side of the blog. It's just below the "Perfect 10 Reviews" section. Completely ripping off the feature that I noticed over at John's Twenty Four Frames, I thought it was a great idea to add some sort of space where I could keep a log of movies I've recently watched that don't fit into what I'm writing about for the blog at the moment. It's just a simple running list, with a simple 10-point rating. But it will be fun for me just to continually put up the latest movies I have watched.
Other than that, we soldier on with the noir countdown... we're moving to some great films!

I'm thrilled to read that you just watched Chaplin's THE GOLD RUSH and Sjostrom's THE WIND! And we've already shared ideas on THE WHITE RIBBON.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great feature Dave, as you won't always get to write about everything you see, as I found out well enough myself.
Thanks, Sam, and you've hit exactly on the reason why I wanted to add something like this... you just can't have full write-ups for everything you see. But I'd like to at least throw out there that I've watched, and give a general feeling as to how I liked it.
ReplyDeleteSo expect a lot of Brian De Palma and Michael Mann over there in the near future, as our mutual blogging buddy Jeffrey Goodman has kicked me off on kicks for both polarizing directors!
Dave, I am honored to be ripped off!(LOL)
ReplyDeleteI am also glad to see someone else who liked DePalma's THE BLACK DAHLIA and FEMME FATALE.
John - I figured I should at least give you credit with triggering the idea! As for The Black Dahlia, I watched it a week ago at the urging of Doniphon at The Long Voyage Home and it's stuck with me since. I'm planning on watching it again this week... there's something haunting about it to me, almost a "Twin Peaks" quality is what I've used to refer to it lately. I have a feeling I'm going to like it even more on a second viewing.
ReplyDeleteI really can't take credit as I have seen similar listings on other blogs.
